2021 Porsche 718 Spyder in Arrow Blue

Tell me about yourself:

By day, I work in Business Development at a tech company, but by night (weekend?) you can usually find me at a local cars and coffee event.  I've always loved cars and driving even from an early age, but the best part about cars has been the people and community I’ve gotten to know.

How did you get introduced to the Porsche brand of cars?

There's a running joke that BMW owners graduate to Porsche owners at some point in their lives.  Well... I graduated.

Why did you purchase your current Porsche?

My BMW was modified to the point where street driving was no longer comfortable, so I started looking for a new car to drive around town and on weekends.  I had always been curious about convertibles, one thing led to another, and all of a sudden I had a Spyder in my garage.

How do you enjoy your Porsche?

I love my Porsche.  It is undoubtedly the most fun & put together car to drive, straight from the factory.  From a casual weekend drive down the coast with the top down, to a spirited drive in the hills - she handles them both with aplomb.

Why do you think there are so few women driving Porsche cars, especially the 911 and 718 sports car models?

I don’t think this is something specific to Porsche cars - women driving and enjoying sports cars is something that is missing in the entire car community.  Unfortunately, there is still a perception that women are bad drivers and/or not interested in cars, and we are treated as such.  For example, the overwhelming assumption when I show up to a car event with my car is that the car is my husband's car.  Or modifications that I've done to my car were picked out by a male, because I wouldn't know enough to pick out parts myself.  It is actually one of my great pleasures in life to see the look of surprise on a person's face when they realize it is my car, I know how to drive, and I know how to mod a car.  😊
