Tell me about yourself:
I was born and raised in Hawaii and now call the Bay Area my home. As a woman leader in tech and a female car enthusiast, I am a strong advocate for women leaning in, breaking barriers, and supporting one another in their professional pursuits and personal passions.
As a female car enthusiast, I know first hand how daunting and intimidating it can be for women interested in getting involved in the car community or in motorsports in general. My passion for Porsche, coupled with my desire to empower and connect with other like-minded women with this shared passion, is why together with a few other women, we co-founded FemPowered, a local grass-roots community for women interested in motorsports. FemPowered is a community built to gather women for spirited weekend drives, social C&C events, charity events, sponsored tech talks, and track days. At my very first track day, there were only 2 women in a group of well over 100+ men. Erika was the only other woman there! FemPowered was born after that track day and as a result of our Inaugural Women's Track Day at Laguna Seca in sponsorship with Porsche Livermore, we were able to support a sold out group of 26 women hitting the track!
How did you get introduced to the Porsche brand of cars?
A longtime Porsche enthusiast and brand loyalist, my love affair with the Porsche brand stems from an early memory seeing a photo of a 964 in Rubystone. It left such an indelible impression that attaining a Rubystone 911 was considered my ultimate goal. I still aim to own a 964 RS in Rubystone one day to add to the garage.
Why did you purchase your current Porsche?
One of my great passions is taking my car to the track and just driving, in general. I love hitting Laguna Seca, Thunderhill and Sonoma and the surrounding Bay Area backroads whenever I have the opportunity. It is gratifying and rewarding to sharpen my skills corner by corner and see an improvement in my confidence and times. I love experiencing all that my new GT3 has to offer.
How do you enjoy your Porsche?
I enjoy tracking my car, taking it out for spirited weekend drives, extended road trips with friends, and meeting up with the local Porsche community at cars & coffee events.
